Advocating for Rights and Enhancing Lives

Missouri Disability Empowerment (Mode) has been actively involved in various initiatives to help families with disabilities advocate for their students' rights to improve their quality of education. Below are stories of MoDE's impact on the community across Mid-Missouri!

We are so thankful for MoDE assistance with our son's IEP. I stumbled upon MoDE after 2 years of trying to navigate the IEP process in our son's school district. I was emotionally and physically exhausted. When I explained our situation during an education. MoDE stepped in and took the reins of the situation. In less than a year our advocate helped us navigate many difficult challenges, was able to assist us in getting our son the services that he required to be successful in school, and through our IEP process she was able to make systemic changes in our school district that benefits other children as well. We cannot thank MoDE enough for all their assistance and for sending us Jordan to assist us. I don't know where we would be without her.
