Our History
MoDE Foundation was born from the shared vision of six determined mothers in June 2018. Fueled by a desire for a brighter future for their children with disabilities, these mothers came together around a simple yet powerful belief: that every individual deserves quality educational experiences and support, regardless of ability.

In 2018, the therapy bill was re-filed, and Robyn and Molly went to the Capitol weekly to talk with legislators. The bill even had a favorable hearing, but did not make it to the finish line.
These weekly visits continued to solidify relationships with legislators and staff members.
Our Story
MoDE Foundation was born from the shared vision of six determined mothers in June 2018. Fueled by a desire for a brighter future for their children with disabilities, these mothers came together around a simple yet powerful belief: that every individual deserves quality educational experiences and support, regardless of ability. With a commitment to inclusivity at its core, MoDE Foundation officially became a 501(c)(3) organization in October 2018, marking the beginning of a journey dedicated to advocating for disability rights and fostering inclusive communities.
Our Journey
From its humble beginnings around a kitchen table, MoDE Foundation has grown both in influence and impact. Strengthening its Board of Directors and engaging volunteers from across the state, the foundation has expanded its reach to support statewide initiatives that champion the rights of individuals with disabilities. Working in tandem with Missouri Disability Empowerment (MoDE), a 501(c)(4) organization focused on legislative advocacy, MoDE Foundation amplifies efforts to address disability and inclusion issues at the highest levels of government. Together, these organizations strive to create meaningful change and ensure that the voices of individuals with disabilities are heard and valued.
Milestones
Throughout its journey, MoDE Foundation has achieved significant milestones in its pursuit of a more inclusive society. From championing landmark legislation to advocating for policy changes that benefit individuals with disabilities, the foundation has left an indelible mark on the landscape of disability rights in Missouri. From its first law championed to its ongoing legislative efforts, each milestone represents a step forward in the fight for equality, dignity, and opportunity for all.
