The Time is NOW!
HB1163, parental consent on significant changes to an IEP, needs a hearing in the Elementary and Secondary Education Committee, but has not been scheduled yet.
We need you to contact the members of this committee, especially the leadership (Rep Pollitt and Rep Baker), and ask for this bill to have a hearing.

Tips for contacting legislators:
- Keep it brief. Just let them know what part of Missouri you live in, that this bill is important to you, and that you’d like a hearing scheduled as soon as possible. If you’d like to talk more in depth about this bill, schedule a time to talk.
- Be kind when talking to legislators. They are human, just like we are.
- You want to contact the right people. For now, let’s focus on the members of the House Elementary and Secondary Education committee.
- Email is great. Phone calls are acceptable as well. If you call a legislator, you may only get to speak with their Legislative Assistant. Be sure to mention our bill number and that you’d like a hearing to be scheduled.
Let’s get this bill moving by showing the legislators that it has support and is greatly needed!
